Welcome to my journal! Have fun!
Bienvenue dans mon journal ! Bonne lecture !
Happy New Year, Chantal! Have a great year.
Merry Christmas Chantal.
I finally found your new journal. It looks good.
I couldn't have much sleep during the night so much I was excited with our trip! The alarmclock rings at 5:00 am. Ouch! That's difficult, but hell!, we're leaving for great holidays so we won't complain, will we?
Just the time to have a coffee for hubby and a hot chocolate for me and we go to the parking of our residence where we have to meet the taxi near the gate at 5:45 am.
Let me explain: the taxi driver is a customer of the garage where I work and he lives in the same residence than our but in a different building. That's why we chose him: it was easier (BTW, we did the same last ear and all went fine). We have to be at the airport at 6:00 am and driving on the highway a sunday morning at this time won't need much time. We wait until 5:50... no taxi! Oh my! What are we doing? We can't miss our plane or we'll miss too the one for Cincinatti and the one for Las Vegas. (I forget to tell you that the day befor I called the taxi -as he had asked me to do- to remind him our "meeting". If he didn't want to get up so early a sunday morning, why didn't he tell me "I'm sorry I won't be able to drive you until the airport tomorrow"???
I decide to give him a call. After ringing three times his cell stops ringing but as if he had stopped it himself. You see what I mean? I call back and this time I have an answering machine that says this number can't be joined, or something like that.
I go back to our flat, take the keys of our car and hubby drives faster than ever until the airport. Wow! We have "plenty" of time to register the luggages and catch our flight.
But that's not finished: we can't leave the car at the airport parking during three weeks. Can you imagine the bill? So once at the hotel in Las Vegas we called my parents (the only ones we knew that would be at home at 8:00 am -French time-). The call lasts 1mn15. It's not much. The bill? 41 $
I couldn't believe it!
I learnt that the hotels are based on the AT&T prices for the phone calls (I guess this is the most expensive company in USA as an AT&T 10$ prepaid phonecard lasted only a few minutes; a 20$ prepaid phonecard from another one company lasted three weeks with a lot of long cals to France) and take a percentage -until 40 %. Happy our hotel percentage was "only" 25%!!! The parking costed only 40 E thank to our friends who went to take the car very rapidly.
And so begin our adventures!
